"The 2020 Pinot Noir La Rinconada Vineyard is a potent, searing wine. Bright red-toned fruit, minerals, crushed rocks, white pepper and iron all race across the palate. I find the stems overpowering to the degree that site character is masked. This austere, reticent Pinot will need a number of years to come together. From 25 year-old vines farmed organically by Greg Adams. Planted in the Sonoma Coast AVA in a vineyard located along Baker Lane which is a combination of Calera, 667, and 777 clones. 75% whole cluster fermentation with native yeasts in tank for 10-12 days. 25% is direct pressed, once the must is dry, into neutral oak for 10 months.

"The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes from the Santa Cruz Mountain estate, and it follows its big brother Monte Bello's style with a terrific sense of elegance paired with richness. Lots of crème de cassis, crushed violets, vanilla, tobacco leaf, and cedar notes flow to a medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, layered Cabernet Sauvignon that has terrific purity, building tannins, and a great finish. (18/20pts Jancis) ---- "If there is an authentic California cult wine, my vote goes to Lytton Springs, given its ridiculous level of quality year in and year out, and Ridge’s price restraint. The blend is a complex mix of 72/15/9 zinfandel/petite sirah/carignane with a sprinkling of alicante bouschet, cinsaut, and counoise. Red licorice, crushed strawberries, and black pepper lead smoky, meaty notes, with bright acidity and dense sweet tannins that carry the finish. This wine will age effortlessly for a decade, but you can enjoy it yearly as it fattens up and feathers out at the edges. (Anthony Gismondi)."
