2007
"A proprietary blend of 69% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot is the 2007 Tenacious (1,800 cases produced). Surprisingly elegant as well as full-bodied and deep, it exhibits a dense ruby/purple color followed by a sweet nose of subtle spicy oak intermixed with chocolate, mocha, plum, and Chinese black tea, deep, fleshy flavors, and striking freshness. This impressive, well-made red should drink nicely for a decade or more." - 92pts WA

1997
"Ultrarich and chocolaty, with layers of cedar, plum, currant and black cherry, revealing uncommon depth and tiers of flavor as it picks up coffee, toffee and anise. Finishes with firm tannins. Best from 2002 through 2012. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 13,000 cases made." - 96pts WS

2019
"A Bordeaux-inspired blend, the 2019 Yettalil Red Wine is considerably darker, deeper and richer than the Napa Valley Cabernet. Scents of cassis, pencil shavings, loam and mocha all appear on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is expansive and velvety without getting jammy or overly broad. Perhaps most important, for a wine that will presumably be consumed along savory dishes, it's nicely savory itself, with earthy notes and gentle tannins punctuating the long finish." - 94pts WA

2018 Swan & Calera Selection
"The 2018 Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Swan & Calera Selection is scented of red cherries and cranberries with tones of bitter citrus, tobacco leaves, dried flowers and Angostura bitters. Light-bodied, silty and incredibly fresh, its slim frame holds a surprising amount of pure, crunchy fruits, and it finishes with tremendous length and spicy layers. The Swan clone fruit included in this cuvée comes from vines planted in 1995, and the Calera clones were planted in 2011. It's another 2018 from the Cobb portfolio that offers both ageability and immediate appeal." - 97pts WA

2009 Rutherford Cabernet
"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Helms Vineyard is bigger, richer and deeper than the 2008 tasted alongside it. In this vintage (and 2010) the picks were smaller, and therefore many of the fermentations were done in smaller French oak barrels, which has given the wine much of its shape. Ripe dark cherries, menthol and spices wrap around the finish. The tannins are a bit firm, but the wine was also bottled just one month before I tasted it." - 94pts Antonio Galloni WA (Tasted 12/2011)

2016
"The deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals a total rock star on the nose, cranking out beautifully boisterous notes of crème de cassis, preserved plums, warm blueberries and Black Forest cake with hints of menthol, mocha, baking spices, star anise and unsmoked cigars. Full-bodied, rich and flamboyantly fruited in the mouth, the palate features a solid frame of super ripe, finely grained tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing very long and very spicy." - 96+pts WA

99 points Aromatic with blackcurrant, ink, black licorice, iodine and oyster shell. Full-bodied with fine, chewy tannins and blue-fruit, currant-bush and rose-petal flavors. Very transparent. It goes on for minutes. Give this some time to soften, but already a genie in the bottle. Drink after 2027. James Suckling | April 2022
