2019 Columbia Valley
"Flirting with perfection, instantly impressive and marked with impeccable shine and polish, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon from Champoux vineyard (90%) and Mach One vineyard (10%). The Cabernet explodes out of a glass with exuberance and power, prancing with layers of juicy black fruit, plum compote, black raspberry jus and hints of cinnamon-spiced black cherries. Full-bodied and with a ripe attack, velvety tannins sway with a glossy mouthfeel that is seductive and hedonistic, and the wine displays a balanced structure with a generous frame. It somersaults to an ever-evolving finish that bursts with layers of complexity, finesse and richness. What a stunning bottle! Bravo! Two thumbs up! Only 4,125 cases were made for the world." - 99pts WA ""Quilceda Creek's Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is once again a spectacular release of this legendary Washington wine. Sourced from Champoux and Mach One vineyards, this begins to impress with its extremely attractive aromas of ripe dark cherries, currants and plums, which are accompanied by lovely nuances of violets, baking spices, savory herbs, gravel, and damp earth characteristics all taking shape. The palate is every bit as stunning, boasting a gorgeous full-body that is structured with beautifully polished, fine-grained tannins that are nicely integrated. Displaying wonderful overall balance and concentration along with remarkable purity and craftsmanship, the 2019 has it all. This is one of the finest vintages of the Columbia Valley Cabernet that I have had the chance to taste. Even at this infant stage this is an absolute knockout and it is certainly destined for a brilliant evolution ahead." - 100pts J.D'Angelo, International Wine Report, March, 2022

2016
"The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes from the Santa Cruz Mountain estate, and it follows its big brother Monte Bello's style with a terrific sense of elegance paired with richness. Lots of crème de cassis, crushed violets, vanilla, tobacco leaf, and cedar notes flow to a medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, layered Cabernet Sauvignon that has terrific purity, building tannins, and a great finish. It offers pleasure today yet won't hit prime time for another 5-7 years, and it's going to evolve for 15-20 years (probably longer)." - 94+pts JD -- "Once again an overachiever, Ridge's 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is regal. Aromatically intense and deep on the palate, the 2016 proves to be utterly captivating from the very first taste. Dark fruit, chocolate, licorice, dried flowers, leather and menthol infuse the 2016 with remarkable complexity. In 2016, the last year of the drought cycle Ridge made one of the very best editions of this wine. Just as remarkably, the 2016 is incredibly harmonious for such a young wine." - 94pts Vinous

2010 Beckstoffer To Kalon (mild bin soil)
"Flirting with perfection, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard RBS from clone 337 was aged in new Darnajou barrels (80%) and the rest in new Taransaud barrels. There were 410 cases produced, which is several hundred cases less than the production in 2012. An unbelievable red wine, it boasts an inky/purple color as well as abundant notes of charcoal, white chocolate, toast, new saddle leather, blueberries, blackberries, creme de cassis and licorice. As the wine sits in the glass, some chocolaty, smoky elements also emerge. This virtually perfect Cabernet Sauvignon has been flawlessly made and should age effortlessly for 25-30+ years." - 99pts WA

2007
"As impossible as it might seem, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon takes things to another level. An exquisite, celestial bouquet melds into endless layers of fruit as this rich, voluptuous wine blossoms on the palate. Full-bodied and seductive, the 2007 conquers all of the senses with its head spinning, beautiful personality. As always, Screaming Eagle is a bit more restrained next to Napa Valley’s other heavy hitters, yet the pedigree of this opulent vintage comes through in spades. A kaleidoscope of aromas and flavors flows through to the creamy, textured finish." - 100pts WA ---- "What a treat it is to taste the 2007 Screaming Eagle. As exquisite as it has always been, the 2007 captivates all the senses with its exotic bouquet, resonant fruit and silky, generous finish. There is plenty of vintage 2007 showiness, yet the wine needs time in the glass to fully open up and reveal the full breadth of its stunning beauty. At once light on its feet yet rich and expressive, the 2007 Screaming Eagle shows why this Oakville sight is so revered. Pomegranate, sweet red cherries, roses and lavender are some of the many notes that are woven into the utterly exquisite finish. Readers who have an opportunity to taste the 2007 should not hesitate, as it is simply mind-blowing." - 100pts VM

2019
"The 2019 Screaming Eagle is a wine of mind-blowing elegance and finesse that stand apart from the generally more potent style of so many wines in this vintage. Deep, sensual and beautifully layered, the 2019 is simply magnificent from the very first taste. A whole range of red/purplish fruit, spice, leather, dried herb and blood orange accents give the 2019 its vivid, wonderfully detailed personality. Because of its price, both on release and in the secondary market, Screaming Eagle is the most talked about wine in Napa Valley. It is hype or not? All I can say is that I was very fortunate to drink a number of older vintages during lockdown and all those wines lived up to their reputations." - 100pts VM
