Impressive dense purple, this has a magical suavity of dark dense fruit with elegance and balance, really classy. "The 2020 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru comes from a south-facing, warm microclimate; the vines are worked by horse, and for the first time, around half the cuvée has been in clay amphorae, which Olivier de Moor believes has lent more precision. It has a delightful bouquet with scents of yellow plum, tangerine and light honeysuckle aromas. The palate is well-balanced with very fine delineation and tension, razor-sharp (perhaps more than previous vintages) with a vibrant and, like the Vau de Vey, quite penetrating with a persistent finish. "The vines are mostly below Corton Charlemagne in Les Marnais and Les Blanchards, hence the name. the holding was purchased 20 years ago, planted in white in 2013, with the first vintage 2017, rapidly becoming a firm Faiveley favourite. Pale in colour, lovely tension on the nose, just the perfect quality gulping white Burgundy. White fruit with a lemon citrus note, fresh, intense and just plain delicious.
